Just like a lot of people here I'm genuinely appreciating being able to play a game and share good times on one of the most popular animes I grew up with, Captain Tsubasa. So I was just wondering what's the demographic for Tsubasa?
I am French, and most of the guys I know who play are like me, French, mid/late twenties, since this basically means 'Captain Tsubasa was on TV when they were kids/early teenagers' (that was during the mid 90s for me, although the first airing was in 1988 in France and the last around 2007 so it's been popular for a very long time). We grew up trying Twin shoot at the local football ground (and all realized it would never work) and pretending we could use the goal posts to jump higher lol.
Captain Tsubasa was legendary in France back in the days! So a simple fun question. Where are you from, how old are you and how did you become a Captain Tsubasa fan? Is there any player here who doesn't know the anime but still plays the game? And last bonus question. How was Captain Tsubasa called in your country?

I'm italian (although located in Norway now), 34 years old and I also know captain Tsubasa because of the anime -which is known as Holly e Benji in Italy- that we, as kids, used to watch every day on tv. We had 2 popular tv programs for kids/teen in the '90s, Bim Bum Bam and Ciao Ciao, which used to show many Animes from Japan. Tsubasa was one of the most popular, if not the very most popular, amoung young boys: everybody born in the '80s and in the first years of the '90s knows Holly e Benji, but I'm noticing that the younger generations don't know the series (nor the manga) that well, although it's still going on tv sometimes. But things have changed, we were probably little more naive than the new generations, that's why we grow fond of a bunch of young boys who could do ridicolous things on a football pitch. But in Tsubasa there was much more than that, although I've never appreciated the fact that Tsubasa never loses (it gives a wrong message in my opinion), I appreciate the importance given to values such as friendship (at the end those competing for the world cup are those who were in the old group of friends who used to play on the school's football pitch) and lojalty. Here in Norway nobody knows about Tsubasa neither they do in the Uk or in the Usa, looks it never made into the 'anglosaxon' part of the world.
