My Four Walls Mac Serial Numbers
1) The serial number is not on the install disk. It is on a booklet that came as part of Logic Studio 2) As far as if it is stored anywhere.? But that serial is linked to your old Macbook. Hence the need to enter the serial again for your iMac. This is probably linked to the fact that the license for Logic Studio allows you to install Logic Studio on one Mac laptop and one Mac desktop. And I wonder, as you said you had moved it before. If you only moved between laptop to laptop.

And never to a desktop? 3) Bear in mind if your copy of Logic Studio 2.0 (Logic Pro 9) was the upgrade version then you will also need the serial number from the Full version of Logic Studio 1.0 (Logic Pro 8) too.
So, how to legally obtain a replacement serial number for Logic Studio 2.0 (and 1.0 if again, your 2.0 was the upgrade version)? I lost my Logic 9 serial, i had moved house and we were flooded out about 6 months before i lost it and had to chuck a lot of paperwork out that was caught in the water. I wanted to put it on to my new mac, and like a fool i had uninstalled it from my older iMac so was left with nothing but the disks.
Contacted Apple and they were no help whatsoever for me, i was really annoyed with them, complained and hit a brick wall where they couldn't offer to help as i could find no receipt either, never offered to check their system for me. Luckily i had put the serial number in my old iMac box, which i didn't discover until a few weeks later, along with the receipt. I was so pleased to find it! As LP9 had just appeared on the app store at the time i did wonder if they were trying to drop any 'old school' boxed LP9/Logic Studio enquiries.
If they do provide you with a new serial, i beleive there's a fee for it too from my correspondance so it may be worth checking out what that is first, and whether you're best putting that into Logic Pro X. Also, if you have Logic running on any of your old machines i think you can go to the About menu and it's displayed on there. 1) The serial number is not on the install disk. Thank you, AofS. And I apologize for the multiple posts. I kept receiving error messages and did not think my queries had stuck. I did indeed locate the Logic Studio System ID in the Application Support folder, but it is a type of file (ccc_helper) that I've never seen before and that my Mac doesn't recognize.
