In the LucasArts ftp archive there are two replacement Star Wars racer exe files, one zipped up the other not, but they both have identical MD5 hashes. Video Uncheck everything (if you don't, you cannot run the game in higher resolutions than 800x600) Input Uncheck everything Compat Fake Version = Enabled - Windows 98/SE (the patched version will run too fast if this is not set) Clean ZBUFFER @1.0 FIX = Enabled (this fixes the black/white screen issue) Important Notice: If you want to change the resoltution with racer.exe, close DXWnd first, then after changing and closing it, you can run DXWnd again and start your game. If your progress is not saved, make a new character and see if this one gets saved. That is how I solved my problem with saving progress.
